ONEONTA, N.Y. | The Farmingdale State College men's lacrosse team remained unbeaten with an 18-12 non-conference victory at Hartwick College on Saturday afternoon, improving to 3-0 in 2026.

The Rams scored the game's first two goals as senior midfielder Tommy Mai (Islip, N.Y.) finished off a feed from junior attacker Joey Forchelli (Seaford, N.Y.) before sophomore midfielder Nicholas Mistler (Patchogue, N.Y.) found the back of the net off an assist from senior midfielder Amir Slaughter (North Babylon, N.Y.) to make it 2-0.

Hartwick responded with three goals in the opening quarter, but the Rams responded each time. Junior attack Adam Giovinco (Syosset, N.Y.) scored unassisted with 1:53 remaining in the first quarter for his 100th career goal, becoming the sixth Ram to reach the milestone. Farmingdale State closed the quarter with a man-down goal from Forchelli, assisted by sophomore goalkeeper Matthew Taylor (Mount Sinai, N.Y.), to take a 6-4 lead.

The Rams extended their advantage in the second quarter behind goals from Mai, junior long-stick midfielder Sean Lawson (Mattituck, N.Y.), Giovinco and Forchelli to carry a 10-6 lead into the halftime break.

FSC then outscored the Hawks, 4-1, in the third to take a commanding 14-7 advantage. Mai netted his third of the game early in the quarter, and freshman attacker Ethan Vargas (Bay Shore, N.Y.) scored twice to push the lead to 13-6. Lawson added his second of the afternoon late in the third to give the Rams the 14-7 lead entering the fourth.

In the fourth, Vargas completed his hat trick and Mistler added his second goal of the game. Mai capped his four-goal performance with a score at the 7:14 mark, and Forchelli's fifth goal of the contest secured the 18-12 victory.
