PATCHOGUE, N.Y. | The Farmingdale State College women's soccer team scored twice in each half and recorded its fifth shutout of the season on Saturday afternoon, defeating St. Joseph's University-Long Island, 4-0, in a Skyline Conference matchup. With the victory, the Rams improved to 6-3-1 overall and 3-1 in conference action.
The Rams took control early, as sophomore midfielder
Ella Hebler (East Greenbush, N.Y.) opened the scoring just 4:49 into the match off an assist from sophomore forward
Katelyn Nunziato (North Babylon, N.Y.). Sophomore forward
Jenna Biondo (North Babylon, N.Y.) doubled the lead in the 31st minute with an unassisted goal.
FSC controlled the action in the first 45 minutes, outshooting SJLI (4-6, 2-3 Skyline), 8-2, and taking the only four corner kicks.
Farmingdale State continued to pressure after halftime, with senior forward
Kayla Mendez (Staten Island, N.Y.) scoring in the 52nd minute to make it 3-0.
The Rams added a late goal from senior midfielder
Ava Lanza (East Meadow, N.Y.) in the 79th minute, finishing a pass from freshman forward
Addyson Talley (Roseville, Calif.).
FSC finished the afternoon with a 14-4 advantage in shots and put 10 attempts on target, while holding the Golden Eagles without a corner kick.

Riana Herold (Lindenhurst, N.Y.) played all 90 minutes for the Rams and made one save to record the shutout. Her lone save came in the 68th minute when she denied Isabella Jones' shot.
The Rams will next travel to Purchase College for a Skyline matchup on Tuesday, October 6th, at 7:00 p.m.
