FARMINGDALE, N.Y. | Following a nationwide search, the Farmingdale State College Department of Athletics is pleased to announce the appointment of Jaylin Miller to the position of Assistant to the Athletic Director. He started in the role on Tuesday (September 2).
FSC was awarded funding for the position from the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) under its
Pathway to Excellence program.
"Our department is excited to welcome Jaylin Miller to our full-time staff," said Farmingdale State Director of Athletics,
Tom Azzara. "To see Jaylin's candidacy rise to the top throughout our interview process makes me especially proud given he graduated from Farmingdale State College. He is a quick learner and understands just how important the student-athlete experience is at FSC, which is why he will be successful in making our department stronger."
Miller, a 2022 graduate of Farmingdale State's Sport Management program, has aided the Rams' men's basketball team since 2021 – when he served as a team manager during his senior year. Following the receipt of his bachelor's degree, he has continued as an assistant coach with the squad. Miller transferred to FSC after starting his undergraduate studies at fellow Division III institution Utica University, where he played one season of basketball for the Pioneers.
The Elmont, New York's other professional experience includes serving as a CEO of Basketball Fly, a brand that established itself as a platform for providing positive direction, sustainable life skills, physical fitness, and urban lifestyle clothing through basketball. Basketball Fly partnered with Core Group Enterprises (CGE LAB) providing youth sports, leadership/mentoring programs, basketball tournaments, camps and clinics, and positive community contributions.
