Tom Azzara

Tom Azzara was named the Director of Athletics in September 2021. Previously, he was promoted to Director of Athletics for Compliance and Operations in June 2016, after serving the department as its Associate Athletic Director since 1997. Azzara has been on the Farmingdale State staff since 1992, having previously served as FSC's Sports Information Director and in the College's Department of Communications.

Additionally, he was the Rams' Head Golf Coach from 2001-16. During his 15-year coaching career, Farmingdale State won eight Skyline Conference championships (2006, 2008-14) and eight NCAA Tournament appearances. In the spring of 2010, Farmingdale State finished in 20th place and made the cut as a team for the first time in school history under Azzara's guidance. He was named the Skyline's Coach of the Year seven times (2006-07, 2008-09, 2009-10, 2010-11, 2011-12, 2012-13, 2015-16).

Azzara, who attended Shoreham-Wading River High School in Suffolk County, received his Bachelor's Degree in Physical Education from Cortland State. He later earned a Master's Degree in Professional Studies, with an Athletic Administration concentration, from Stony Brook University.
