Men's Tennis Loses in NCAA Championship First Round Versus Baruch

BRUNSWICK, Maine | The Farmingdale State College men's tennis team saw its 2024-25 season come to an end Thursday afternoon, as the Rams fell 4-2 to Baruch College in the first round of the 2025 NCAA Division III Men's Tennis Championship.

FSC (16-4) wraps up a season in which it secured its first-ever Intercollegiate Tennis Association national ranking, and captured its third-consecutive Skyline Conference Championship.

The Bearcats (13-3) advance to Friday's second round, where it will face ninth-ranked host Bowdoin College.

Baruch secured the doubles point by winning two out of three flights, with Farmingdale State's sophomore tandem of Kwaku Agyeman (Middletown, N.Y.) and Ty Williams (Port Jefferson Station, N.Y.) ahead 5-4 when their third-flight match versus Jordan Hernandez and George Arteaga was halted.

FSC freshman Michael Lerman (Massapequa, N.Y.) swept through his No. 6 singles match against the Bearcats' Giovanni De Santis by identical 6-0 scores, while Williams secured a 6-1, 6-1 decision in the fifth flight over Steven Margolis.
