FARMINGDALE, N.Y. | Farmingdale State College won its final tune-up match in advance next week's 2025 NCAA Division III Women's Tennis Championship on Wednesday, as the Skyline Conference-champion Rams captured a 7-0 victory over Hunter College – champions of the City University of New York Athletic Conference.
FSC (14-5) and the Hawks (7-6) will learn their respective NCAA draws via an online selection show on NCAA.com, Monday at noon.
The Rams received the team point from doubles play, with senior
Lien Collings (Merrick, N.Y.) and
Gabriella Loria (Levittown, N.Y.) registering a 6-3 victory in the top flight, while junior
Amanda Jones (Mastic Beach, N.Y.) and sophomore
Natalia Furchel (Manorville, N.Y.) secured a 6-0 triumph in the second flight.
FSC was up 3-0 before singles play began, as Hunter had defaulted No. 3 doubles and Nos. 5 and 6 singles. Juniors
MacKenzie Gisler (Ronkonkoma, N.Y.) and
Mikayla DeMaria (West Babylon, N.Y.) were credited with a win by default in the last doubles slot, while senior
Luisa Valencia (Huntington, N.Y.) and junior
Samantha Stolfi (Port Jefferson Station, N.Y.) received the same distinction in the bottom-two singles flights.
From there, the Rams captured all four pro-set singles matches to complete the sweep.
Loria was first into the book at the second singles flight with an 8-2 decision over Sree Kolla, while DeMaria and fellow junior
Heather McGullam (Hauppauge, N.Y.) earned identical 8-4 decisions in the Nos. 3 and 4 slots, respectively. Gisler played in the top-flight match against the Hawks' Julia Aksamentova, and carded an 8-6 win to round out the afternoon's competition.
