FSC Rolls Past St. Joseph's-Brooklyn; Coach Twomey Becomes Program Wins Leader

FARMINGDALE, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State men's basketball team earned a 95-43 win over Skyline Conference opponent St. Joseph's-Brooklyn on Saturday in Farmingdale, N.Y. The Rams improved to 4-7 overall and 1-1 in conference play.

With today's victory, FSC 12th-year head coach Brendan Twomey picked up his 183rd win with the program and passed Erik Smiles for the top mark in the Rams' NCAA era (since 2001). He now holds a 183-102 mark with a 131-47 Skyline record.

The Rams controlled play from the jump scoring 18 of the first 20 points over the opening 6:03.

Leading 18-5, a 3-pointer by Farmingdale State junior guard Robbie Siechen (Syracuse, N.Y.) and back-to-back layups by Hamdel Mohammed (Bronx, N.Y.) and Jordan Tucker (Elmont, N.Y.) gave FSC a commanding 20-point edge, 25-5.

The Bears (4-7, 1-1 Skyline) were held to just 16 first-half points as the Rams took a 46-16 advantage into the break. Senior guard Jevon Santos (Elmont, N.Y.) was 4-for-5 from the field with a game-high 10 points in the first 20 minutes. He held a plus-minus of plus-28.

In the second half, Rams' junior guard Sean Conroy (Staten Island, N.Y.) knocked down a 3-pointer before a layup by classmate Michael Notias (Manhasset, N.Y.) extended the lead to 35, 51-16.

Still up 35, 58-23, with 14:26 on the clock, a 13-0 run pushed the FSC advantage to 71-23 with 11:19 to play.

Farmingdale State led by as many as 54 in the final 10 minutes as they went on for the 95-43 Skyline victory.

Conroy finished with a game-high 15 points as he knocked down a trio of 3's. Santos had 14 points, while freshman guard Dameek Horton (Uniondale, N.Y.) produced 14 points and four rebounds in just 13 minutes of action. Mohammed recorded 12 points on 6-for-7 shooting off the bench and sophomore forward Liam Buckley (Manhasset, N.Y.) tallied a double-double with 11 points and a career-high 15 rebounds. Tucker and Notias had six and five points, respectively, with Kentrell Evans (Brooklyn, N.Y.), Jovayne Walters (Cambria Heights, N.Y.) and James Notias (Manhasset, N.Y.) adding four points apiece in the win.

Farmingdale State will next travel to play Skyline opponent St. Joseph's-Long Island on Wednesday, January 8th at 7:00 p.m.
