BRUNSWICK, ME | The Farmingdale State men's tennis team fell to Nichols College, 5-0, in the First Round of the 2024 NCAA Division III Championship on Friday afternoon. The Rams end their historic season with a 17-1 overall record, while the Bisons have advanced to the Second Round and will take on the host of the regional, #6 Bowdoin.
FSC fell in all three doubles matches as both the top-flight duo of junior

Ryan Hendel (Merrick, N.Y.) and the #2 pairing of seniorsÂ
Alan Sabovic (Bohemia, N.Y.) and
Matthew Waterhouse (Massapequa Pk., N.Y.) fell by the same score, 8-5. Nichols' (14-7) Enzo Matos and Trevor Schwartzmann took third doubles, 8-0, over senior
Muhammad Sawar (Brentwood, N.Y.) and freshman
Ty Williams (Pt. Jefferson Station, N.Y.).
The Bisons clinched the match with wins in the fifth (6-2, 6-3) and sixth (6-3, 6-1) singles matches to secure the 5-0 victory. In the #1 position, Sabovic was up one set over Leon Zeis, but the match was left unfinished.
