DANBURY, Conn. | The Farmingdale State College men's tennis team opened the spring portion of its 2023-24 slate in resounding fashion Monday afternoon, as the Rams defeated host Western Connecticut State University by the score of 8-1.

Ty Williams (Pt. Jefferson Station, N.Y.) for an 8-3 decision at No. 2 against WestConn's Nathaniel Mariduena and Caleb Harris, while the third-flight Farmingdale State tandem of seniors
Alan Sabovic (Bohemia, N.Y.) and
Matthew Waterhouse (Massapequa Pk., N.Y.) shut out the Wolves' Nicholas Peschier and Sebastian Frisch.

Vansh Aggarwal (Mumbai, India) opening his FSC account a 6-1, 6-1 decision at No. 2 versus Aidan Burke. Williams (6-3, 6-1) and Sawar (6-1, 6-4) captured wins against Frisch and Harris in the third and fourth flights, respectively, while senior
Matthew Olkhovetsky (Great Neck, N.Y.) defeated Mariduena at No. 5, 6-1 and 6-2. Senior
Edward Kemp (Oyster Bay, N.Y.) rounded out the sweep for Farmingdale State in the sixth flight, besting Peschier 6-love and 6-4.
Next up for head coach Adam Waterhouse's Rams is their Skyline Conference opener on Thursday night (March 28), when they open their title defense against Yeshiva University in a 7 p.m. first serve at the Brookdale Park Tennis Center in Montclair, N.J.
