MAHWAH, N.J. | The Farmingdale State men's basketball team lost 67-48 at Ramapo College on Saturday afternoon. FSC dropped to 1-1 on the young season, while the Roadrunners improved to 2-0.
The Rams jumped out to an early 12-6 advantage just under seven minutes in. Junior guard
Michael Notias (Manhasset, N.Y.) and sophomore forward
Liam Buckley (Manhasset, N.Y.) produced five points apiece in the run.
Over the final 13:20 of the first half, Ramapo held Farmingdale State to just four points as they took a 28-16 advantage.
Trailing 30-16 early in the second, FSC senior forward
Hamdel Mohammed (Bronx, N.Y.) scored five consecutive points to close the gap to nine at 30-21.
The Rams cut their deficit to seven, 34-27, with 14:43 on the clock, but the Roadrunners responded with seven unaswered points to take a commanding 14-point lead.
Ramapo held a double-digit advantage the remainder of the game as they earned the 67-48 non-conference victory.
Senior point guard
Jevon Santos (Elmont, N.Y.) registered 10 points, three rebounds and a pair of steals, while Notias produced nine points and a career-high seven rebounds. Mohammed finished with eight points and sophomore forward
Kentrell Evans (Brooklyn, N.Y.) added five points off the bench. Buckley recorded five points and a team-high 12 boards in defeat.
The men's basketball team next plays host to Baruch College for a non-conference game on Wednesday, November 20th at 8:00 p.m.
