FARMINGDALE, N.Y. | The Farmingdale State women's soccer team fell to visiting Rowan University, 5-0, on Friday afternoon in the opening game of this weekend's Rams Classic. FSC dropped to 1-2 overall, while the Profs remain undefeated at 3-0. This weekend's Classic will also feature Springfield College and Western Connecticut University playing on Saturday and Sunday.
Rowan outshot the Rams, 8-0, in the first 45 minutes, scoring twice.Â
Just 5:21 into the contest, Profs sophomore midfielder Ava Morales scored off the corner kick pass by junior midfielder Sarah Bergan.
Rowan extended their lead to 2-0 in the 14th minute as Emma DeMaise and Morales set up sophomore forward Olivia Giordano for the goal.
Neither team scored across the final 31 minutes of the half as Rowan took the 2-0 advantage into the break.
Just under 10 minutes into the second half, Profs junior forward Mackenzie Clement registered back-to-back goals only 59 seconds apart to give Rowan a commanding 4-0 lead.
Rowan added a penalty kick goal with just over 10 minutes to play to account for the 5-0 final score.

Mikayla Spiering (Parker, CO)  had one shot on goal apiece for FSC, while sophomore goalkeeper
Gabby Pinero (Ronkonkoma, N.Y.) made six saves in net.
The Rams Classic continues tomorrow (Saturday) afternoon when Western Connecticut takes on Springfield at 3:30 p.m. at the Nold Hall Athletic Complex. On Sunday, the Rams Classic will conclude with two games -Â WestConn vs. Rowan at 1:00 p.m. & Farmingdale State vs. Springfield at 3:00 p.m.
