Women's Soccer Opens Skyline Play with Victory at Yeshiva

Farmingdale State - 12; Yeshiva - 0
NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. | Nine different players found the back of the net Tuesday night at Fosina Field for the Farmingdale State College women's soccer team, which tallied three times in the opening eight minutes of play to earn a 12-0, Skyline Conference victory over host Yeshiva University.

The Rams (1-1, 1-0 Skyline) received the second-career hat trick along with one assist from sophomore Alyse Rivera (Manhattan, N.Y.), in addition to a pair of tallies by junior Alexxis McNeil (Valley Stream, N.Y.). Junior mid Mikayla Spiering (Parker, Colo.) and senior Celina Schenk (Ronkonkoma, N.Y.) both checked in with a goal and two assists on the evening, while freshman Bailey Hammock (Pt. Jervis, N.Y.) added one goal and one helper.

Spiering (from Schenk) and Rivera [from sophomore Gracie Heilbrun (Parker, Colo.)] opened FSC's account 25 seconds apart from each other in the opening three minutes of play, before McNeil's first goal of the night went in at the 8:00 mark. Rivera completed her hat trick with goals in the 18th and 31st minutes to sandwich Schenk's 29th-minute marker, with Hammock (35'), McNeil (39') and junior Shirley Hernandez (Long Beach, N.Y.; 42') all scoring to provide for the Rams' 9-0 halftime edge.

The first Farmingdale State goals for newcomers Sydney Kranick (So.; Murrysville, Pa.), Stephanie Alberghine (Fr.; Medford, N.Y.) and Katelyn Armstrong (Fr.; Pembroke, N.H.) accounted for the match's second-half scoring.

The Rams defense allowed zero shots on the night in front of sophomore keeper Gabby Pinero (Ronkonkoma, N.Y.), who picked up her second-career clean sheet in the process.

Head coach Chris Roche's Farmingdale State squad will next play host this weekend to the Rams Classic, and will kick off play Friday afternoon (Sept. 8) at 4 p.m. against Rowan University.
