Women's Soccer Tripped Up by Stevens

Stevens - 3; Farmingdale State - 0
HOBOKEN, N.J. | A pair of first-half goals Tuesday night at the DeBaun Athletic Complex sent host Stevens Institute of Technology to a 3-0 victory over the Farmingdale State College women's soccer team.

The Ducks (1-5-2) opened the scoring just over four minutes into play, when Amelia Rehrig one-touched home a flick off a corner kick from just inside the six-yard box to put her side in front. Rehrig doubled Stevens's advantage 17 minutes later, when she collected an initial shot off the left post and finished high to the middle of the net, as the hosts carried a 2-0 lead into halftime.

Stevens capped off the scoring 13 minutes into the second frame, when Nina Burden's looping shot from the top-right corner of the penalty area snuck inside the left-hand post to account for the 3-0 final.

For the visiting Rams (3-4-2), sophomore Alyse Rivera (Manhattan, N.Y.) and junior midfielder Maddy Berry (Glen Head, N.Y.) each took a pair of shots on the evening, while FSC sophomore keeper Kelsie Feingold (Commack, N.Y.) made two saves.

Head coach Chris Roche's Farmingdale State squad is back in action Saturday afternoon (Sept. 30), when it returns home for Skyline Conference play by welcoming St. Joseph's University-Long Island for a noon kickoff as part of the College's Homecoming festivities.
