Volleyball Falls in Skyline Semifinal at Manhattanville

PURCHASE, N.Y. | Fourth-seeded Farmingdale State College was eliminated from the 2023 Skyline Conference Women's Volleyball Championship on Thursday night, as the Rams fell to top-seeded host Manhattanville College, 3-0 (25-16, 25-22, 25-17).

FSC (13-11), which advanced to the conference semifinals for the fourth-consecutive season, were led by senior middle blocker Kalena Ricketts (Cambria Hts., N.Y.), who led all players with a .289 hitting percentage on 13 kills to go with two assisted blocks for 14 points. Right-side hitter Madeline Stanley (Sr.; Massapequa Pk., N.Y.) chipped in with six kills, three assisted blocks and a season-high 19 digs, while junior libero Lana Ventura (Pt. Washington, N.Y.) passed 12 digs. Freshman setter Sarah Rende finished one dig shy of a double-double after dishing out 23 assists, with classmate Doly DeJesus (Geneva, N.Y.) providing both of the team's service aces in the match.

The Valiants (19-11), ranked No. 7 in the latest NCAA Division III Region III rankings, advance to Saturday's championship final, where they will play host to second-seeded St. Joseph's University-Long Island at 2 p.m.
