Women's Volleyball Rolls Past MSMC to Secure #4 Seed for Playoffs

Farmingdale State - 3, Mount Saint Mary - 0 (25-22, 25-15, 25-15)
NEWBURGH, N.Y. | The Farmingdale State women's volleyball team defeated Skyline opponent Mount Saint Mary College on Thursday evening to close out their regular season schedule. FSC finished 9-2 in Conference play and will enter the playoffs as the #4 seed. St. Joseph's-Long Island and Merchant Marine, who were also 9-2 in the Skyline, hold the games ratio tiebreaker over the Rams (number of games won versus number of games lost in head-to-head competition). Manhattanville claimed the top seed with an 11-0 record.

In the first set, Farmingdale State led by just one at 21-20, but were able to tally points on a Knights (4-21, 4-4 Skyline) error, two kills from junior middle blocker Mikayla Profeta (West Islip, N.Y.), and one by outside hitter Madeline Stanley (Massapequa Park, N.Y.) to clinch the set 25-22.

FSC cruised through the next two sets, winning both by a score of 25-15, as they went on for the 3-0 victory.

Senior middle blocker Kalena Ricketts (Cambria Heights, N.Y.), who registered a record-tying 28 kills on Tuesday, produced 15 kills and a .267 hitting percentage. Stanley finished with 11 kills and one solo block for 12 points, while Profeta recorded six kills and two service aces for eight points.

Freshman setter Sarah Rende (Wantagh, N.Y.) tallied 31 assists, two aces and four digs and junior libero Lana Ventura (Port Washington, N.Y.) had a match-high 14 digs for the Rams.

Mount Saint Mary's Jonaiya Williams had 13 kills in the loss.
