Box Score Rams Drop Non-Conference Matchup with Montclair
State

Farmingdale, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State women's
soccer team fell at home to Montclair State in a non-conference
game this afternoon, in Farmingdale, N.Y. The Rams attempted 16
shots, but were unable to score. Farmingdale now holds a 9-4-3
overall record, while the Red Hawks improved to 8-3-2.
Montclair State did not waste any time scoring the games opening
goal at the 11:20 mark. Senior forward Liza Offreda (East
Rutherford, N.J./Midland Park) netted the pass from Christina Nunes
(Morris Hills, N.J./Parsippany Hills), putting the Red Hawks up
1-0. Freshman forward Stephanie Barbulescu (Franklin, N.J./Pope
John XXIII) scored off a goalie rebound for Montclair State's
second goal three minutes before halftime.
Only 48 seconds into the second half, junior midfielder Jackie
McGrath (Vernon, N.J./Vernon) scored off Offreda's corner kick,
putting the Red Hawks up 3-0. Freshman midfielder Zoe Mandaro
(Hawthorne, N.J.Hawthorne Christian) would add Montclair State's
final goal in the 78th minute.
Freshman goalkeeper Stacey Rao (Ronkonkoma, N.Y./Connetquot)
takes the loss with five saves for Farmingdale State, while senior
Leah Tepperman (North Andover, Mass./North Andover) had nine saves
in the win.
The Rams host St. Joseph's College in a Skyline Conference game
on Thursday, October 22nd at 3:00pm.
