Brittany Villalta was hired as athletics facilities director in September 2023.
"We are very excited to add Brittany to the Farmingdale State Athletics family," said Tom Azzara, director of athletics, at the time of Villalta's hiring. "Her vast experience working in intercollegiate athletics, including in the SUNY system and the Skyline Conference, will make her an invaluable asset to our department."
A native of nearby Oyster Bay, N.Y., Villalta came to FSC with strong familiarity with the College and the Skyline Conference as she spent 10-plus years in the athletics department at SUNY Old Westbury – including the final seven as Assistant Director of Athletics for Facilities and as the Panthers' Senior Woman Administrator. In addition to her oversight of all facets of Old Westbury's athletic facilities and game-day staffing, she served the Panthers with scheduling and transportation coordination, and was a liaison between the department and outside rentals. A vital member of Old Westbury's athletics senior management team, Villalta was actively involved with the implementation of numerous special events, including Midnight Madness, Senior Athletics Awards Night, Alumni Days and Athletic Director Honor Roll Luncheons, among other events. She also served as the advisor to the Panthers' Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), in addition to serving as a co-liaison to the Skyline's conference-based SAAC initiatives – overseeing numerous community service events along the way.
Prior to her tenure at Old Westbury, where she began as the Athletic Facility Manger in 2013, Villalta served for one year as an Athletics Operations and Special Events staff member at Long Island University's Post Campus, including serving as the primary manager for the Pioneers' women's volleyball program. She completed her bachelor's degree in sports management from SUNY Cortland in 2010, and received her master's degree in the same discipline in 2012. As she was completing her graduate studies, Villalta served an internship in the front office of the New York Islanders during the summer of 2012, as well as working as a stadium assistant at Cortland – including assistance with the facility playing host to New York Jets training camp and helping the department to secure hosting bids for NCAA, SUNY Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) and NYSPHSAA championships.
Villalta, who participated in "Gameday the D-III Way" training through the NCAA in 2018, holds memberships in the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA), Collegiate Event and Facility Management Association (CEFMA) and Women's Leaders in College Sports (formerly NACWAA).
