Deshaun graduated from Thomas Edison High School in 2007, wherehe was MVP in the 2005-2007 seasons. He placed 3rd in the 55m,100m, 200m, and 300m in the Indoor and Outdoor QueensboroughChampionship. He is the son of Joyce Penny.
