Women's Soccer Collects Skyline Win Against Old Westbury

Farmingdale State 8, Old Westbury 0
FARMINGDALE, N.Y. | Led by two goals apiece from freshman attacker Annalise Ferraro (North Massapequa, N.Y.) and senior Julia Rebich (Lindenhurst, N.Y.), the Farmingdale State College women's soccer team captured an 8-0 Skyline Conference victory on Thursday afternoon versus SUNY Old Westbury.

FSC (9-5-3, 6-1-2 Skyline) broke the scoreless tie against the Panthers (4-5-2, 3-5-1) in the 23rd minute, when sophomore Emilia Burns (Mineola, N.Y.) bent home a corner kick.

Ferraro's first goal of the afternoon 5:44 before halftime, when she collected a loose ball outside the penalty area and sent a right-footed shot into the left-hand corner to double the hosts' edge.

The freshman netted her second goal of the afternoon with 1:38 on the clock on a 25-yard effort into the top of the goal, giving Farmingdale State a 3-0 halftime lead.

Senior Kayla Mendez (Staten Island, N.Y.) tacked on to the hosts' lead 10 minutes into the second half on an individual run down the middle of the field, before the Rams received Rebich's two goals, along with single tallies from freshmen Riley Febbroriello (Clinton, Conn.) and Bianca Clarke (Holbrook, N.Y.), inside the final 18 minutes of play.

Freshman goalie Charlotte Hoina (Holbrook, N.Y.) made one save in notching the shutout in the FSC net.

Farmingdale State is back in Skyline play at home on Saturday, when it plays host to Senior Day against Sarah Lawrence College in a 2:30 p.m. kickoff.
