FARMINGDALE, N.Y. | The Farmingdale State men's and women's cross country teams opened their 2024 season at the Adelphi Panthers Invite at Bethpage State Park on Friday afternoon. The men took eighth place out of 14 teams, while the women came in 13th. Division II East Stroudsburg University captured both the men's and women's races.
On the men's side, sophomore
Gabriel Aguilar (Levittown, N.Y.) led FSC with a time of 28:48.5 and 27th place. He held an average mile of 5:47.8.
Freshman
Jack Lengyel (Cheshire, CT) posted a time of 29:24.8 and came in 34th out of 107 in his first collegiate meet.
Sophomore
Max Reilly (Levittown, N.Y.) took 48th in 30:33.3 and freshman
Gabriel Bar Kochva (Bethpage, N.Y.) was 59th in 32:08.6.
For the women, junior
Nicole Pickett (Uniondale, N.Y.) produced a time of 26:39.5 for 59th place, while
Sydnee Simmons (Uniondale, N.Y. - 29:47.2) and
Loamy Maldonado (Brentwood, N.Y. - 31:00.1) registered 77th and 80th, respectively.
The cross country teams return to action on Saturday, September 21st when they compete in the St. Joseph's-LI Golden Eagles Invitational at Bethpage State Park.
