Defense Solid in Women's Soccer's Draw vs. No. 19 NYU

Farmingdale State 0, No. 19 NYU 0
FARMINGDALE, N.Y. | A strong defensive effort by the Farmingdale State College women's soccer team, including an eight-save effort in net from junior keeper Kelsie Feingold (Commack, N.Y.), sent the Rams to a scoreless tie against 19th-ranked New York University on Wednesday night.

FSC's (1-3-1) top offensive threat came 15 minutes into play, when freshman striker Abigail Chest (Johnstown, N.Y.) recovered from a tackle 15 yards from goal to force a diving save in the top-left corner from Violets' (2-0-3) netminder Riley Felsher.

Feingold made three stops in the first 45 minutes of play behind the defensive back four of junior Alexandra Coloma (Seaford, N.Y.), senior Gracie Heilbrun (Parker, Colo.), senior Alexandra Getfield (W. Islip, N.Y.) and junior Abigail Borra (Syosset, N.Y.). Farmingdale State also received strong play on the night from its defensive midfield, including senior Mikayla Spiering (Parker, Colo.) -- who played the full 90 minutes -- and the tandem of junior Madison Deskins (Palm Bay, Fla.) and freshman Mikayla D'Ambrosio (Lynbrook, N.Y.).

FSC is back in action Saturday afternoon, when it travels to SUNY New Paltz for a 1 p.m. kickoff.
