BOULDER CITY, NV | The Farmingdale State men's golf team played in the fourth and final round of 2024 NCAA Division III Championship on Friday and shot a 304 (+16) to finish in 18th place.
FSC made the cut for just the second time in program history and the first since the cut line was lowered to the top-18 teams.
Over the four rounds, the Rams recorded a team total of 1,183 (292-291-296-304). Methodist (1131) outshot Carnegie Mellon (1132) by one stroke and were crowned the 2024 NCAA Champions.
Individually, Michael O'Sullivan of Oglethorpe shot 12-under to earn medalist honors, one shot better than the runner-up Cooper Hrabak of Methodist.
In Friday's fourth round, senior
Mackenzie Kim (East Quogue, N.Y.) and freshman
CJ Merritt (Plainview, N.Y.), who were both named GCAA All-Region on Thursday, shot matching scores of 75 (+3). Kim finished tied for 54th place as he fired a total of 294 (+6) across the four days.
Senior
Chris Iguchi (Centereach, N.Y.) shot rounds of 73 (+1), 70 (-2), 72 (E) and 80 (+8) for a total of 295 (+7) and 60th place.
Senior
Brad Castaldy (Dix Hills, N.Y.) and sophomore
James Quinlan (Poughquag, N.Y.) finished the Championship with plus-5 rounds of 77 on Friday. Castaldy (304) took 85th, while Quinlan (307) tallied 89th.
