2024 Skyline Conference Cross Country Championships
Men: 3rd/12 Teams (86 Pts.);Â Women: 6th/11 Teams (156 Pts.)
RESULTS
FARMINGDALE, N.Y. | The Farmingdale State cross country teams competed in the 2024 Skyline Conference Championships at Bethpage State Park on Sunday. The men's team finished third with 86 points, while the women placed sixth with 156 points. Three student-athletes claimed All-Conference honors for FSC, led by sophomore
Gabriel Aguilar (Levittown, N.Y.), who was named to the First Team.
Merchant Marine took both the men's and women's titles, with four runners in the top five for the men and three in the top six for the women.
Aguilar secured the final First Team spot as he finished seventh individually in 27:30.2. His 5:31.9 average mile was a season-low for Farmingdale State.
Freshman
Jack Lengyel (Cheshire, Conn.) took 10th out of 82 runners in 28:01.9, earning Second Team All-Conference honors. He was the second first-year competitor to cross the line, behind St. Joe's-LI freshman Evan Skoblicki.
Sophomore
Max Reilly (Levittown, N.Y.) posted a career-best time of 28:57.7 for 19th place, while senior
Jonathan Engelhardt (Kings Park, N.Y.) was 23rd in 29:44.5.
Sophomore
Gabriel Bar Kochva (Bethpage, N.Y.) rounded out the scoring for Farmingdale State with a time of 30:18.5, good for 29th.
Freshmen
Aaron Rivera (Levittown, N.Y. - 30:24.5) and
Connor Henry (Sayville, N.Y. - 30:55.8), and senior
Daniel Catano (Deer Park, N.Y. - 31:06.8), each achieved season-best times and were the sixth through eighth runners for the Rams. Sophomore
Amaan Narine (Jamaica, N.Y. - 38th), senior
Patrick Vierling (Deer Park, N.Y. - 43rd), and senior
Brian McDonagh (Northport, N.Y. - 44th) also registered top-50 finishes.
On the women's side, freshman
Alice Valenzuela (Elmont, N.Y.) led the Rams with 10th place in the 6,000-meter race with a time of 27:32.3 and collected Second Team All-Conference honors.
Junior
Nicole Pickett (Uniondale, N.Y.) followed with a time of 30:29.5, good for 31st out of 86 competitors.
Juniors
Sydnee Simmons (Uniondale, N.Y.) and
Kimberlyn David (Mastic Beach, N.Y.) finished 35th and 43rd, respectively, with times of 31:42.3 and 32:42.6 and sophomore
Mishell Delgado (Bronx, N.Y.) rounded out the scoring for FSC in 47th place with a time of 33:25.3.
Other notable finishes for the women included sophomore
Precious Akahara (Valley Stream, N.Y. - 35:24.0) and junior
Loamy Maldonado (Brentwood, N.Y. - 36:02.4), who were 58th and 61st, respectively.
