BRONX, N.Y. | The FSC cross country teams competed at the Queensborough Invitational on Sunday at Van Courtlandt Park in Bronx, N.Y. The men earned a fifth place finish out of 21 teams, while the women came in 15th.
The Pratt Institute women placed four in the top-20 and Merchant Marine men had four in the top-10 as they took home the team wins.Â
Sophomore
Gabriel Aguilar (Levittown, N.Y.) led the way for the Rams with 12th out of 161 competitors in the men's 8k in 30:15.0. He ran an average mile of 6:05.1.
Freshman
Jack Lengyel (Cheshire, CT) recorded a time of 31:09.0 and took 18th place.
Freshman
Aaron Rivera (Levittown, N.Y. - 33:01.0) and sophomore
Gabriel Bar Kochva (Bethpage, N.Y. - 33:23.0) tallied 35th and 36th, respectively, while freshman
Connor Henry (Sayville, N.Y.) took 46th in 34:12.0.
Brian McDonagh (Northport, N.Y. - 50th),
Patrick Vierling (Deer Park, N.Y. - 60th) and
Amaan Narine (Jamaica, N.Y. - 64th) rounded out the scoring on the men's side.
In the women's 5k, junior
Nicole Pickett (Uniondale, N.Y.) led the way with a 42nd place finish in 26:59.8.
Junior
Sydnee Simmons (Uniondale, N.Y.) produced a season-best time of 27:27.6 and came in 47th out of 145 student-athletes, while
Kimberlyn David (Mastic Beach, N.Y. - 86th) and
Mishell Delgado (Bronx, N.Y. - 101st) registered times of 30:29.2 and 32:27.2, respectively.
The Rams next travel to Branch Brook Park in Newark, New Jersey for the NJIT Highlander Challenge on Saturday, October 12th.
