RESULTS
KINGS PARK, N.Y. | The Farmingdale State cross country teams traveled to Sunken Meadow State Park in Kings Park, N.Y. for the SJLI Invitational on Saturday. The men placed third with four runners earning top-20 finishes, while the women took 10th overall.
The FSC men tallied a score of 78, with the hosts, St. Joseph's-Long Island, just ahead with a score of 65. Monroe University had the top four student-athletes at the meet and came in first with 58 points.
Sophomore
Gabriel Aguilar (Levittown, N.Y.) came in fifth place, individually, in 28:53.6 and was the top Skyline Conference runner in the 8k race. He averaged a 5:48.7 mile time.
Freshman
Jack Lengyel (Cheshire, Conn.) and senior
Jonathan Engelhardt (Kings Park, N.Y.) came in 14th and 15th, respectively, with times of 29:56.4 and 30:21.1.
Sophomore
Max Reilly (Levittown, N.Y.) completed the 8,000-meter course in a time of 30:37.7, good for 19th place, and classmate
Gabriel Bar Kochva (Bethpage, N.Y.) was next across the finish line for the Rams with a time of 31:34.8 (25th).
Freshman
Connor Henry (Sayville, N.Y.) (31st - 32:09.2), senior
Brian McDonagh (Northport, N.Y.) (43rd - 33:27.2) and senior
Patrick Vierling (Deer Park, N.Y.) (46th - 33:50.7) checked in with top-50 finishes.
Farmingdale State junior
Nicole Pickett (Uniondale, N.Y.) led the women in the the 5,000-meter competition with a time of 26:20.5. She tallied a career-best time and took 35th out of 98 runners.
Juniors
Sydnee Simmons (Uniondale, N.Y.) and
Kimberlyn David (Mastic Beach, N.Y.) were second and third for FSC as they produced times of 26:53.9 (45th) and 27:38.8 (53rd).
Farmingdale State will next compete in the Skyline Conference Championships on Sunday, November 3rd. The meet will take place at Bethpage State Park with the women's race at 11:00 a.m. and the men's race at noon.
