Alycia Haynes (Adams Ctr., N.Y.), respectively, led the Farmingdale State College cross country teams Friday afternoon at the Hudson Valley Sportsdome, as FSC took park in the New Paltz Invitational. The Rams' men's squad earned a fourth-place finish (105 pts.)Â in a 13-team field, with the women's contingent collecting eighth place (173) in the 12-team lineup.
Gopie was the top-finishing freshman in the 96-person men's field by more than 90 seconds, completing the hilly 8,000-meter loop in a third-place time of 28:03.3. Fellow FSC newcomer
Max Reilly (Fr.; Levittown, N.Y.) placed 13th in a time of 30:38.4, while freshman
Gabriel Aguiar (Levittown, N.Y.) registered a 25th-place finish with his 32:07.6 loop.
Haynes provided fifth-place points for the Farmingdale State women's squad, clocking a 6,000-meter time of 28:14.6 on the afternoon. Freshman
Kaitlin Slattery (Merrick, N.Y.) placed in the top-25 with her 23rd-place time of 33:38.3, with Rams freshman
Precious Akahara (Valley Stream, N.Y.) and sophomore
Loamy Maldonado (Brentwood, N.Y.) finishing nearly simultaneously with times of 37:59.0 and 37:59.3, respectively.

Daniela Georgieva will bring her teams back to the Sportsdome, site of this fall's Skyline Conference Championships (Oct. 22), on Sunday, Sept. 24, when it competes in the Mount Saint Mary College Knights Invitational.
