Women's Soccer Second-Half Push Falls Just Short vs. St. Lawrence

Box Score

DALLAS, Pa. | The Farmingdale State College women's soccer team pushed the pace in the second half on Sunday afternoon after falling behind by an eighth-minute free kick goal, but was unable to level the contest in falling to St. Lawrence University, 1-0, in a neutral-site match played at Misericordia University.

St. Lawrence (4-0-1) collected the only goal of the contest eight minutes in, when Mia Cence's long free kick from the center of the field found its way into the top-right corner.

The Rams (1-4) outshot the Saints by an 8-4 total count in the second frame, including junior Jazzmin Terrell (W. Babylon, N.Y.) forcing a 64th-minute save in the top-middle of the goal from 25 yards away. Seven minutes later, freshman Alyse Rivera (New York, N.Y.) raced down the right channel and put an effort on target that required St. Lawrence keeper Keely Snode to make a diving stop to her right to keep her side in front.

Snode picked up the victory with four of her five saves coming in the latter 45-minute stanza for the Saints. FSC sophomore Chloe Kensell (Monroe, N.Y.) made two stops in the opening half, before senior Lindsey Jolly (Massapequa, N.Y.) registered four second-half saves for the Rams.

Head coach Chris Roche's Farmingdale State squad is back in non-conference action Wednesday afternoon (Sept. 14), when it travels to Ewing, N.J., for a 4 p.m. kickoff at second-ranked The College of New Jersey.
