Oakdale, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State men's and
women's cross country teams opened the season on Sunday afternoon
in the St. John's/Hofstra Fall Festival. The women's team finished
in 4th of the Division II and III teams, while the men's team
finished in 5th overall.
The Rams competed against strong teams from Division I and
Division II. The women's team was led by Penelope Cruz Perez (Santo
Domingo, DR), she finished 48th with a time of 23:08, followed by
freshman Nicole Franz (Huntington, N.Y.) at 23:56. Rounding out the
group were junior Carina Bonilla (Massapequa Park, N.Y.) 24:02.2
and freshman Megan Eiseman (Seaford, N.Y.) in a time of
24:04.5.
The men were led by freshman John Mahon (Bellmore, N.Y.)
who finished 51st at 17:50.5, followed by junior Dan Barrett
(Wantagh, N.Y.) in a time of 19:03 and freshman Konrad Rogowski
(Massapequa, N.Y.) at 19:05.6.
Farmingdale State will compete next in the LIU Post Invitational
in Brookville, N.Y.
