- Barrett and Bonilla Lead Teams at St. John's -
Oakdale, N.Y. - The Famingdale State men's and
women's cross country team opened the season in their first meet on
Saturday, September 7th against strong Division I and II schools at
St. John's campus in the St. John's/Hofstra Fall Festival in
Oakdale, N.Y.
From the women's side, the Rams were led by senior Melissa
Bonilla (Massapequa Park, N.Y.), who finished in 17:57.69, followed
by her sister, sophomore Carina Bonilla (Massapequa Park, N.Y.) at
21:04.71.
Other finishers for the women were: Laura Urena - 21:42.97, Kim
Asdahl - 22:35.76, Lauren Neuwirth - 22:43.01, Kazia Garvey -
23:53.40 and Paola Dominguez - 24:55.67.
On the men's side, the Rams were led by sophomore Daniel Barrett
(Wantagh, N.Y.) at 18:25.30, while sophomore Patrick DiMaria
(Commack, N.Y.) followed at 19:33.40.
Other finishers for the men were: Justin Ramos - 20:06.59,
Jonathan Gortman -20:46.59, Colin Norwood-20:50.90 and Julio
Jimenez - 23:02.00.
Both teams will run next in the LIU Post Invitational on
Saturday, September 14 in Brookville, N.Y.
