Rams Earn Skyline win at Home against
Maritime
Farmingdale State - 9, Maritime College - 0
Farmingdale, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State women's soccer
team defeated Maritime College, 9-0, this afternoon in Farmingdale,
N.Y. The Rams improved to 7-1 overall and 2-0 in the Skyline
Conference. The Privateers fell to 0-8 on the season, 0-1 in
conference play.
Farmingdale State wasted no time getting on the scoreboard as
sophomore forward Christina
Merrill (Levittown, N.Y./Island Trees) scored 1:52 into the
match. Sophomore forward Corine Magee
(Mastic N.Y./William Floyd) then netted a pass from freshman
midfielder Sarah Golden
(Greenport, N.Y./Greenport), as the Rams opened up a 2-0 advantage
at the 7:54 mark. Golden scored the next two goals, putting
Farmingdale on top 4-0 just 14 minutes into the contest. Kerry Larkin
(Patchogue, N.Y./Patchogue-Medford), Carly
Schneider (Merrick, N.Y./Bellmore JFK), Melissia Elie
(Brentwood, N.Y./Brentwood), Anna-Marie
Rivera (Bay Shore, N.Y./Brentwood) and Jamie Smith
(Ronkonkoma, N.Y./Sachem East) each added a first half score for
the Rams.
Neither team scored in the second as Farmingdale State cruised
to victory, their second Conference win of the season.
The Rams will now take on New York University in a
non-conference matchup on Sunday, September 26th at 2:00 p.m. The
game will be played at NJIT.
