Rams Remain Perfect in Skyline with Home Win over

Farmingdale, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State women's soccer
team improved to a perfect 4-0 in the Skyline Conference with a 2-0
win over Mount Saint Mary College this afternoon. The Rams improved
to 9-2 overall, while the Knights dropped to 6-6 on the year and
3-2 in conference play.
The Rams went ahead early as sophomore forward Melissia Elie
(Brentwood, N.Y./Brentwood) scored off Christina
Merrill's (Levittown, N.Y./Island Trees) pass, only 9:16 in the
contest. Sophomore defender Jillian
Lasota (Massapequa, N.Y/Massapequa) increased Farmingdale
State's lead 1:15 before halftime, as she scored after receiving
her own rebound 10 feet in front of the net. The Rams outshot the
Knights 9-2 in the first half.
In the second half, Farmingdale State protected their lead
allowing the Knights only three shots. Neither team scored after
the break.
Junior goalkeeper Amanda Maass
(Mastic Beach, N.Y./William Floyd) had two saves in the victory,
while senior Megan Cotta (Point Pleasant, N.J/St. Rose) had nine
saves playing 69:08 in goal for Mount Saint Mary.
Farmingdale State next will travel to Yeshiva University for a
Skyline Conference game on Tuesday, October 5th, at 8:00p.m.
