Box Score Rams Remain Unbeaten in Skyline with Maritime

Farmingdale, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State women's
soccer team remained unbeaten in the Skyline Conference with a 10-0
win over Maritime (6-4, 1-2) on Wednesday night in Throggs Neck,
N.Y. The Rams are now 7-3-3 overall, 3-0-1 in the conference.
Freshman forward Carly Schneider (Merrick, N.Y./Bellmore-JFK)
recorded her first career hat trick (3 goals) to lead Farmingdale
in scoring.
Maritime was able to hold the Rams scoreless until the 22nd
minute when freshman midfielder Taylor Horgan (Long Beach,
N.Y./Long Beach) sent home a crossed pass from senior midfielder
Tricia Pickford (Massapequa, N.Y./Massapequa) for the 1-0 lead.
Schneider scored her first of the day as she picked up a goal
kick at the 40-yard line and was able to put a shot past the goalie
for a 2-0 Farmingdale advantage. Freshman forward Jamie Smith
(Holtsville, N.Y./Sachem East) scored the Rams third goal of the
day, finding a rebound out in front, before freshman forward Corine
Magee (Mastic Beach, N.Y./William Floyd) scored off her own rebound
and Farmingdale took a 4-0 lead into the halftime break.
Horgan scored her second of the day at the 52:22 minute mark
with an assist by freshman forward Christina Merrill (Levittown,
N.Y./Island Trees) and the Rams would add five more before the
final horn. Freshman forward Theresa Martorano (Commack,
N.Y./Commack) finished with one goal and one assist. Magee finished
the night with two goals, while Erica Bettini (Staten Island,
N.Y./Susan E. Wagner) added one goal.
Farmingdale has a short break and will pick up next on Tuesday,
October 6th against Purchase in another Skyline Conference game at
home at 4:00 p.m.
