RESULTS
GALLOWAY, N.J. | The Farmingdale State College outdoor track & field teams competed at the NJAC Championships on Saturday and Sunday. The men scored 46 points and tied for fifth place out of 10 competing schools, while the women finished tied for ninth.
Sophomore's
Nicholas Lourenco (Bay Shore, N.Y.) and
Daniel Bamfo (Lake Grove, N.Y.) earned podium finishes for the FSC men. Lourenco was victorious in the pole vault with his height of 4.75m (15' 7"), while Bamfo took second in the triple jump with a mark of 13.87m (45' 6.25").
Also for the men, sophomore
Samuel Aladegboungbe (Bay Shore, N.Y.) moved into sixth in program history with his time of 54.98 in the 400m hurdles.
Senior
Jahvirye Wilks (Farmingdale, N.Y.) captured seventh in the discus with a toss of 42.64m (139' 11"). His throw is now 10th all-time at Farmingdale State.
Junior
Robert Kalinowski (Farmingdale, N.Y.) earned five points for the Rams with fourth place in the decathlon (4,875 points). He took second in both the discus and pole vault and was third for the shot put and high jump across the 10 events.
Freshman
Adonias Mercado (Hillsdale, N.Y.), junior
Jovany Philippe (Huntington, N.Y.) and freshman
Matthew Lourenco (Bay Shore, N.Y.) earned sixth place finishes in the shot put (13.52m - 44' 4.25"), triple jump (13.31m - 43' 8"), and pole vault (4.15m - 13' 7.25"), respectively.
Junior
Dontay Taylor (Saint Vincent and the Grenadines) was Farmingdale State's top sprinter with eighth in the 100m finals (11.32) and 10th in the 200m prelims (22.73).
On the women's side, freshman
Mishell Delgado (Bronx, N.Y.) captured sixth in the pole vault (2.40m - 7' 10.5"), while freshman
Treesha Jayakody (Jamaica, N.Y.) was eighth in the triple jump (10.16m - 33' 4").
The Rams will next head to the All-Atlantic Region Outdoor Championships at SUNY Cortland on Wednesday and Thursday, May 15-16.
