RESULTS
NEW LONDON, CT | The Farmingdale State men's and women's outdoor track & field teams competed at the Silfen Invitational, hosted by Connecticut College, on Friday and Saturday in New London, Connecticut. The meet featured 35 men's teams and 33 women's teams.Â
The Rams earned two wins on the weekend in the men's relay and pole vault.
The 4x400m relay team of sophomoreÂ
Samuel Aladegboungbe (Bay Shore, N.Y.), freshman
Isaiah Harrilal (Deer Park, N.Y.), sophomore
Matthew Latimer (Wyandanch, N.Y.), and sophomore
Tristan Socias (Uniondale, N.Y.) was victorious with their time of 3:32.29. FSC has now won the relay at three consecutive meets.
Sophomore
Nicholas Lourenco (Bay Shore, N.Y.) remains undefeated this year in the pole vault. He recorded a height of 4.60m (15' 1") to pick up the win. His brother, Matthew Lourenco (Bay Shore, N.Y.), competed in the event as well and took fourth (4.00m - 13' 1.5").Â
N. Lourenco also ran the 110m high hurdles for Farmingdale State and finished in 14th with a time of 16.98.
Along with his win in the relay, Aladegboungbe ran the 400m hurdles and had FSC's top mark in the high jump. He placed fourth in the 400m hurdles in a career-best time of 59.03, while taking 11th in the high jump with a height of 1.72m (5' 7.75").
Latimer recorded sixth in the 400m in 51.37. He has competed in seven events so far this season, placing top-6 in each.
Junior
Robert Kalinowski (Farmingdale, N.Y.) earned fifth in the decathlon with a score of 4,505. Across the 10 events, he tallied second in the pole vault (4.05m - 13' 3.5"), and third in both the shot put (10.17m - 33' 4.5") and high jump (1.66m - 5' 5.25").
FreshmanÂ
Adonias Mercado (Hillsdale, N.Y.) led the men's throwers in all three events. He registered 12th in the discus in a career-long 36.07m (118' 4"), 13th in the shot put with a toss of 12.08m (39' 7.75")Â and 16th in the weight throw in a personal-best 36.04m (118' 3").
In the triple jump, junior
Isaiah Mehnert (West Babylon, N.Y.) took 14th with a mark of 11.62m (38' 1.5").
Finally, junior
Dontay Taylor (Saint Vincent and the Grenadines) placed 15th in the 100m (11.47) and 23rd in the 200m (23.43).
On the women's side, freshman
Mishell Delgado (Bronx, N.Y.) produced an 11th place finish in the pole vault (2.50m - 8' 2.5"), while classmateÂ
Treesha Jayakody (Jamaica, N.Y.) recorded 19th in the triple jump (8.90m - 29' 2.5").
In addition, distance runners
Alycia Haynes (Adams Center, N.Y.) andÂ
Kaitlin Slattery (Merrick, N.Y.) tallied 27th in the 1500m (5:24.92) and 42nd in the 800m (2:49.64), respectively.
The outdoor track and field teams will next travel to Southern Connecticut State University for the Jack Maloney Invitational on Saturday, April 20th.
