Three Women's Soccer Student-Athletes Named to Academic All-District Team

COMPLETE RELEASE FROM COLLEGE SPORTS COMMUNICATORS
FARMINGDALE, N.Y. | College Sports Communicators released its 2024 Academic All-District® Women's Soccer Teams on Tuesday, and three student-athletes from Skyline Conference champion Farmingdale State College have been recognized by the organization – senior center back Alexandra Getfield (West Islip, N.Y.), junior fullback Abigail Borra (Syosset, N.Y.) and senior defensive midfielder Mikayla Spiering (Parker, Colo.).

Getfield, a bioscience major, was named the 2024 Skyline Conference Defensive Player of the Year and first team All-Skyline Conference. She directing a Rams defense that held regular-season conference opponents to just one goal conceded (nine minutes into their Skyline opener) – good for a streak of 891:19. Getfield has also been selected as a nominee for Academic All-America® honors, which will be released on December 11.

A sport management major, Borra saw action in the FSC back line on 18 occasions during her first season with the program, and notched her first collegiate goal on Oct. 30 in the regular-season finale against Yeshiva.

Including Farmingdale State's conference championship run and 14th appearance in the NCAA Division III Championship, Spiering was one of four players to see action in all 23 contests (22 starts). She is a criminal justice major, and notched two assists from her defensive midfield position this fall as the Rams' primary corner kick distributor.
