Farmingdale, N.Y. - Farmingdale State junior setter Lauren Anne Strezenec (Merrick, N.Y.) tallied game-high's in both assists (18) and digs (10) in a non-conference women's volleyball match this evening to lead the Rams over York (NY) College, 3-0. FSC improves to 8-7 on the season, while the Cardinals fall to 1-14.
The Rams cruised through the first two sets, 25-8 and 25-4, and followed with a 25-19 victory in set three to sweep York, 3-0.
Farmingdale State junior outside Annie Cosgrave (Brightwaters, N.Y.) tallied a match-high seven serving aces, while sophomore middle blocker Kelsey Voiklis (Commack, N.Y.) recorded eight kills and one block. Sophomore setter Julia Hande (Islip, N.Y.) totaled seven kills, six assists and five digs and freshman right side Sophie Mattheos (Seaford, N.Y.) added four kills for the Rams.
Strezenec also tallied six serving aces in the win.
The Cardinals were led by sophomore setter Allison Ahmed's (Brooklyn, N.Y.) nine assists and six digs.
The Rams are right back at it tomorrow night, Thursday, October 5th, as they travel to face non-conference opponent William Paterson at 7:00 p.m.
