McLean Places 8th in Nationals to Become First Female NCAA Division III All-American in School History

March 14-15, Division III NCAA Championships, Ohio Northern University


Ada, Ohio - Junior high jumper Cathryn McLean (Northport, N.Y./Northport) became the first woman in Farmingdale State history to gain All- American status at the Division III level.

After placing 6th at the ECAC Championships last week in the High Jump, she got the call to compete at the Nationals, the first female in school history.

At the meet, she placed 8th, clearing 1.61 meters  (5' 3 ¼") at the NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships at Ohio Northern University in Ada, Ohio.

Her 8th place finish awards her with the All-American status.
