Rams Edge Hunter for Non-Conference Win

Flushing, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State women's tennis team earned a 5-4 victory over Hunter College in a non-conference match on Wednesday afternoon. The Rams improved to 4-1 overall, while the Hawks dropped to 0-2 on the season.

Farmingdale State earned a pair of points in doubles play as Michelle Fredericks (Farmingdale, N.Y.) and Tatiana Rosamilia (Malverne, N.Y.) picked up a 9-8 (7-5) victory in the #2 slot and Alex Bentz (Massapequa Park, N.Y.) and Denise Liguori (Massapequa, N.Y.) notched an 8-2 win in third doubles.

Fredericks, who was playing third singles, earned a 6-7, 6-3, 6-3 win over Hunter's Stephanie Ahwireng (Toronto, Canada). In fourth singles, Rosamilia earned a 6-0, 6-4 win, while Liguori tallied a 6-1, 6-1 victory in the fifth position.

The Rams next will host William Paterson in a non-conference match on Wednesday, September 25th at 5:00 p.m.
