Old Westbury, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State women's soccer team earned a 7-0 Skyline victory over SUNY Old Westbury this afternoon. The Rams improved to 4-4-2, 2-0 with today's win.
FSC freshman forward Miranda Ozimek (Centerport, N.Y.) opened the scoring in the 21st minute as she beat the defender and scored on a breakaway. After senior forward Taylor Howard (Massapequa Park, N.Y.) tallied an unassisted goal at 22:14, the Rams third goal came from freshman forward Cristina Ferrara (Massapequa, N.Y.), who scored off of sophomore defender Elizabeth Dasilva's (Franklin Square, N.Y.) feed to go up, 3-0.
Just over four minutes into the second half, sophomore defender Tara Lyons (Wantagh, N.Y.) scored off a rebound to put Farmingdale State on top, 4-0. After Ferrara tallied her second goal of the game, from freshman defender Alexandra Johnson (Commack, N.Y.), with 29:48 remaining, late goals by senior forward Aracely Romero (Bay Shore, N.Y.) and sophomore defender Jackie Haft (Smithtown, N.Y.) sent the Rams home with the 7-0 conference victory.
Farmingdale State outshot the Panthers (2-8, 1-2) 20-0 in the second half.
FSC next hosts St. Joseph's-Brooklyn on Tuesday, October 3rd for a Skyline Conference match at 5:00 p.m.
