Vandeventer Leads Eastern to Last Minute Victory

Eastern University - 2, Farmingdale State - 1

St. Davids, Penn. - Freshman forward Gennifer Vandeventer (Manorville, N.Y.) scored the game-winning goal for Eastern with 1:48 remaining as the Eagles earned a 2-1 non-conference victory over Farmingdale State.

Eastern (2-5-1) jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the 12th minute as junior midfielder Emily Roquemore (Camp Hill, Penn.) scored after being set up by both Emily Cole (Winfield, Penn.) and Stephanie Le (York, Penn.). The Rams (4-5) responded less than four minutes later with an Alena Gannon (North Babylon, N.Y.) goal to tie the game at 1-1. The Rams held a 4-3 shot advantage in the first half.

With 1:48 remaining in regulation, Vandeventer's unassisted score led Eastern University to the 2-1 victory.

Farmingdale State next will travel to Sage for a Skyline Conference game on Saturday, September 28th at 2:00 p.m.
