Rams Cruise Past Maritime to Conference Win

Throggs Neck, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State women's soccer team improved to 9-2-2, 3-0 in the Skyline with a 9-0 victory over conference opponent Maritime College (2-9-1, 0-5) on Tuesday night in Throggs Neck, N.Y. The Rams scored three first half goals and added six more en route to the win.

First half goals were scored by senior defender Katrina Cerverizzo (Center Moriches, N.Y.) and junior forward Jamie Smith (Ronkonkoma, N.Y.) and Farmingdale held a 17-0 shot advantage. In the second, the Rams poured on 18 more shots and scored four unassisted goals.

Cerverizzo finished the game with a team-leading two goals and one assist. Maritime's junior goalkeeper Courtney Marietta (Grantville, Pa.) made 12 saves in defeat.

Farmingdale State will now face The Sage Colleges in another conference match-up on Friday, October 7th at 4:00 p.m.
