Skyline Releases Women's Soccer Report #10

- Jamie Smith named Player of the Week, Taylor Horgan named Rookie of the Week

Clifton Park, N.Y. - The Skyline Conference released the tenth and final Women's Soccer report for the 2009 season this afternoon, including Player of the Week, Rookie of the Week, Honor Roll and Conference statistics.

Freshman forward Jamie Smith (Holtsville, N.Y./Sachem East) was named Skyline Conference Player of the Week for women's soccer. Smith scored the game-winning goals in each of Farmingdale's two playoff games. Smith scored in the ninth minute of the semifinal game aganst Sage, leading the Rams to a 3-0 victory. In the Skyline Championship game, she scored the only goal on a corner kick at the 79:19 mark, sending Farmingdale to the NCAA Tournament for the third consecutive season.

Freshman forward Taylor Horgan (Long Beach, N.Y./Long Beach) was named Skyline Conference Rookie of the Week. Horgan was named Skyline Conference women's soccer tournament Most Valuable Player. She led a Farmingdale offensive attack that outshot playoff opponents 45-3.
