Head Coach: Erin Calkins (1st season)
Erin Calkins enters her first season as head coach of the Rams. She joined the Farmingdale State women's lacrosse coaching staff for the 2009 season, helping guide the Rams to their first ever Skyline Conference Championship. Last season, she led the team to a program best 13-2 record. Erin was an assistant coach at Central Connecticut for the 2008 season, before leaving to join the Farmingdale State staff.
Calkins was a two sport athlete and three-year starting goalkeeper at Eastern Connecticut State University. As a freshman, she was honored by IWCLA/US Lacrosse as a Second Team All-New England selection and was named Conference Rookie of the Year. Calkins led Eastern Connecticut to the second round of the NCAA Tournament in 2005. She set ECSU single-season records for games played, starts, minutes and saves. She also recorded the second-best win total and save percentage in school history.
Her junior year, Calkins was named the ECAC Goaltender of the Year while also earning All-Conference and All-New England honors. She was named All-Conference and ECAC All-New England honoree as a senior.
Calkins earned her bachelor's degree in Sport and Leisure Management at Eastern Connecticut ('07) and is currently pursuing her master's degree in Liberal Studies at Stony Brook University.
Assistant Coach: Rory Redmond
Redmond joined the coaching staff in January 2013. Rory played midfield for U Albany from 2005-2009, where she started 58 out of 66 games over her career and played in two America East Championship games.
Her junior year, she was named to the America East Conference All-America Team, IWLCA Academic Honor Roll and America East All Academic Team. Senior year she was again named American East All Academic Team and was also named to the America East All Championship Team. She finished her career with 48 goals, 18 assists, 68 ground balls and 84 draw controls.
In high school, she played both soccer and lacrosse for Baldwin and was named Honorable Mention All-County for lacrosse in 2004 and 2005.
Assistant Coach: Courtney Cook
Courtney joined the coaching staff in the Fall of 2012, after playing four years as the starting goalkeeper for Farmingdale State, under the tutelage of Coach Calkins.
Her freshman season, she led her team to the programs first-ever Skyline Championship and was named the 2009 Skyline Conference Rookie of the Year, ECAC Division III All-Metro/South Region Rookie of the Year, and IWLCA All-Region Second Team. She was also selected to the 2009 Womenslacrosse.com Division III All-Rookie Team.
That season, she finished with a .565 save percentage, ranking her 4th in the Nation among Division III goalies, while also finishing 9th nationally in Saves per Game (13.0), 27th for Total Saves (173.0) and 34th for Goals Against Average (10.23). She was also named the Skyline Tournament MVP, after finishing the playoffs with an average of 22.5 saves in two games.
Courtney played just seven games in goal her sophomore year due to an injury, but returned her junior year to finish with an 8-8 record and a 10.62 GAA. She was again named All-Conference and a USA College Lacrosse DIII All-Star. She finished ranked 2nd in the Skyline for save percentage (.477) and saves per game (9.69).
Her senior year, she was named the Skyline Conference Player of the Year, leading the Rams to their best record in school history (13-2) with a 6.49 goals against average. She was also named to the ECAC DIII Mid-Atlantic Second Team.
Courtney holds school records at Farmingdale State for most wins
(30), finishing with a 30-16 career record. She is also ranked 2nd
All-Time for saves (487), saves per game (9.55), save percent
(.512) and GAA (9.69).
Courtney graduated from Deer Park High School in 2008, where she was a 2-Time MVP of her team. She was also named All-League, All-County, Honorable Mention All-County and All-Tournament while with Deer Park.
