Women's Lax Wins First-Ever NCAA Game

West Hartford, CT - The Farmingdale State women's lacrosse team improved to 1-3 overall with a 15-5 victory over St. Joseph's of Connecticut on Sunday morning in West Hartford, CT. The win marks the first-ever NCAA win in program history for Farmingdale State women's lacrosse and gives the team momentum going into Tuesday's (April 4th) Skyline Conference game against Centenary College.

The Rams came out flying as freshman attacker and team co-captain Jessica Kramer (Lindenhurst, NY/Lindenhurst) won the opening draw control and scored the first goal of the game just 15 seconds into the game. Farmingdale State added six more goals over the next 15 minutes for a 7-1 lead, including four goals and an assist from freshman attacker Theresa Rokee (Lindenhurst, NY/Lindenhurst). Rokee added another goal in the second for a team leading five goals overall. Kramer finished with two goals and four assists.

Junior attacker Gina Shore (Holbrook, NY/Sachem) scored three goals, while junior attacker Natalie Budinich (East Northport, NY/Commack) had three assists. Freshman midfielders Nicole Brett (Babylon, NY/West Babylon) and Samantha Boeger (Bohemia, NY/Connetquot) added two goals a piece. Sophomore midfielder Amy Serr (Deer Park, NY/Deer Park) scored the first goal of her lacrosse career on a free position shot in the second half.

Sophomore goalkeeper Janine Forman (N. Massapequa, NY/Plainedge) was unstoppable in net making 20 saves on 26 shots faced, stoning St. Joe's on 10-of-11 free position shots.

The Rams host Skyline opponent Centenary College on Tuesday, April 4th at 3:30pm.
