Farmingdale State - 67, Purchase College - 36
Purchase, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State women's basketball team won their fourth straight with a 67-36 victory over Purchase College last night. The Rams improved to 12-7, 11-1 in the Skyline with the win, while the Panthers drop to 7-15, 0-12 in conference play.
Farmingdale led 33-12 at the halftime break, shooting 55-percent from the field as they held Purchase to 16-percent shooting. In the second, the Rams shot 54-percent and would run away with the win as they shot a season-high 55-percent for the game.
Junior guard Baytania Newman (Brooklyn, N.Y.) finished with a game-high 18 points, hitting 9-of-11 shots. Senior guard Jeanette Zubizarreta (Bay Shore, N.Y.) scored 11 points and senior forward Natasha Smalls (Harlem, N.Y.) had eight points.
For Purchase, three players were tied with 10 points each, Christina Rupp, Alyssa Guido and Jess Lindsay.
The Rams will travel to face The Sage Colleges on Saturday, February 11th at 1:00 p.m. for another Skyline game.
