After posting a perfect 18-0 mark in conference play, Mount Saint
Mary is the top seed for the 2011 Skyline Conference Women’s
Basketball Championship. The six-team Championship will be held
February 22-26 on campus sites.
The 24th-ranked Knights boast an overall mark of 23-2 and have won 17 consecutive games. Mount Saint Mary will play at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 24th after earning a first round bye. NYU-Poly also earned a first round bye, as it secured the No. 2 overall seed in this week’s Championship. The Lady Jays finished tied for second place in the standings with Farmingdale State but earned the No. 2 seed as a result of their season sweep in head-to-head action with the Rams.
Championship action commences on Tuesday, February 22nd as No. 3 Farmingdale State hosts sixth-seeded Purchase, while No. 5 Sage visits fourth-seeded Old Westbury. Purchase shared sixth place with Mount Saint Vincent in the conference standings, but claimed the final spot in the Championship by virtue of the league’s tie-breaking procedures.
Semifinal matchups will be held on Thursday, February 24th, while the championship game will take place on Saturday, February 26th.
