Rams Defeat St. Joe's on Pink Zone Night

Farmingdale, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State women's basketball team defeating visiting St. Joseph's tonight, 66-46, in the annual WBCA Pink Zone game. The Rams improved to 17-6, 13-3 in the conference with the win, while the Golden Eagles fall to 9-15, 6-11 in the Skyline.
Farmingdale led 34-22 at the half, as junior guard Kayla Koch (Kings Park, N.Y./Kings Park) scored 10 points and sophomore guard Nikita Green (Roosevelt, N.Y./Roosevelt) contributed eight points and three assists in the first. The Rams shot 50-percent from long range in the second and cruised to the victory. Sophomore forward Jalicia Connell (Westbury, N.Y./Hicksville) finished with a team-leading 14 points, and Koch totaled 12.
St. Joseph's was led by junior forward Chelsea Lynch (Shoreham, N.Y./Shoreham-Wading River) with 13 points, while senior guard Kathleen Lamb (Port Jefferson Station, N.Y./Comsewogue) had eight points and four rebounds. Freshman twin guards Laura Cohen and Christina Cohen (Smithtown, N.Y./Smithtown East) both finished with seven points for the night.
All proceeds from tonight's game will be donated to the WBCA Kay Yow Cancer Fund. The Rams will travel to face NYU-Poly on Friday, February 18th at 6:00 p.m.
