Rams Drop Non-Conference Game at Baruch
Baruch - 83, Farmingdale State - 52
New York, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State women's basketball team fell, 83-52, in a non-conference game at Baruch College. The Rams dropped to 2-2 on the season, while the Bearcats improved to 3-1.
The Rams trailed 10-8 at the 14:59 mark before Baruch went on a 34-6 run to open up a 30 point lead with under three minutes remaining in the half. The bearcats shot 53% from the field in the first half and held a 46-17 advantage at the break.
Farmingdale State was unable to cut into the Bearcats lead in the second half and fell 83-52 on the road.
The Rams were led by sophomore guard Nikita Green (Roosevelt, N.Y./Roosevelt) who had a team-high 15 points and five steals. Junior forward Natasha Smalls (Harlem, N.Y./St. Michael Academy) had eight points, seven rebounds and four steals for Farmingdale State.
Senior center Megan Bouwens (Commerce Twp., MI/Lakeland) of Baruch College, shot 10-for-16 from the floor, scoring a game-high 21 points to go along with 13 rebounds.
The Rams next will travel to New York University for a non-conference game on Wednesday, December 1st at 7:00 p.m.
