Blakney Named Skyline Conference Player of the Year

Blakney (Brooklyn, N.Y./Benjamin Banneker) was named the 2009-10
Skyline Conference Player of the Year, as announced by the Skyline
Conference on Monday, March 1st.
Blakney is the Division III National Leader in scoring (25.8 ppg) and steals (6.0 spg) and is ranked 14th nationally with 12.3 rebounds per game. She led the Skyline Conference in scoring and steals, while also ranking 2nd in rebounds and blocks, 3rd in 3-point field goals made, 5th in free-throw shooting percentage and 9th in assists. Blakney became the first Farmingdale State basketball player to score 2,000 career points on February 18th at home against Purchase College. Kim currently has 2,067 points to date.
Blakney was named Skyline Conference Player of the Week seven times and ECAC Metro Division III Player of the Week three times over the course of the year. Blakney led Farmingdale State to their first ever Skyline Conference Championship this past weekend and the schools first trip to the NCAA Division III National Tournament.
Head coach Chris Mooney was named Skyline Conference Co-Coach of the Year along with Randy Ognibene of Mount Saint Mary, after leading Farmingdale State to a program best 25-1 record this season.
