Blakney and Rams Roll to 14th Victory

Farmingdale, N.Y. - Senior guard Kimberly Blakney
(Brooklyn, N.Y./Benjamin Banneker) scored game-highs of 25 points
and seven steals, as the Rams defeated City Tech tonight, 92-48, to
improve to 14-0 overall this season. The Yellow Jackets fell to
2-12 with the loss.
Farmingdale led 44-29 at the half, before allowing only 19 second half points and shooting 42-percent from long range to secure the non-conference win.
The Rams had 14 players contribute offensively, led by Blakney, while sophomore guard Kayla Koch (Kings Park, N.Y./Kings Park) finished with 15 points and sophomore guard Shemique Hooks (Westbury, N.Y./Westbury) was the third player in double figures. Senior guard Kamaya Miller (Brooklyn, N.Y./Midwood) finished with nine points and six steals. Farmingdale forced 40 turnovers in the game and had 29 steals.
Sophomore guard Christine Jackson (Brooklyn, N.Y./East Brooklyn Congregation) was the high-scorer for City Tech, posting 16 points and five steals, while junior forward Kimberly Battle (Brooklyn, N.Y./St. Joseph's) scored 12 points. The Yellow Jackets blocked eight shots tonight, as junior forward Tempestt Casey (Bronx, N.Y./Bronx Leadership) tallied four blocks, freshman forward Ayana Cinque (Brooklyn, N.Y./Boys and Girls) totaled three blocks and Battle blocked one shot.
Farmingdale State will travel to Purchase College on Tuesday, January 19th for a Skyline Conference double-header with the men's team. The women tip-off at 6:00 p.m., the men at 8:00 p.m.
